The hip neighborhoods of Le Marais and Canal Saint Martin are home to many nice shopping and dining addresses. The team of French sneaker label Veja lives and works in Paris and collected their favorites for us. This is the place to be for tasty croissants, a relaxed atmosphere and stylish boutiques in the nicest districts of Paris.
Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion founded the French sneaker label Veja in 2004. They have since opened shops in Paris, Berlin, Bordeaux and New York. In order to also give space to other brands, the duo founded the concept store Center Commercial in 2010, where lifestyle items and clothing for men, women and children can be found.
Center Commercial sells products from brands that are transparent about their production chain and have an ecological and social approach. The space is also used for book launches, such as that of ‘The World Is On Fire But We’re Still Buying Shoes’ by Alec Leach.
The boutique on Rue de Marseille is located in the Canal Saint Martin district, the area above Le Marais where there is always something going on. The historic district of Le Marais in the third and fourth arrondissements was long the Jewish neighborhood of Paris and also a center of commerce. Today it is one of the liveliest areas of the capital of France, thanks to its numerous bars, restaurants, galleries and boutiques. In the tenth arrondissement you will find the warm, village-like neighborhood of Canal Saint Martin. Here you can relax with a coffee and stroll through the cozy streets around the canal.
